Please Join Us As We Celebrate
the Sri Rajarajeswari Peetham’s 18th Anniversary!

We welcome you to attend our Annual Alankara Festival, which commemorates the founding of the Temple as well as the 2010 Atirudram Maha Kumbhabhishekam. We hope everyone in the Temple community will be able to join us and receive the divine blessings of Sri Maha Ganapati, Sri Rajarajeswari, Sri Dattatreya, and the Navagrahas.

Please see the attached Alankara Festival flyer for details of all the events, or keep reading to learn more.

July 1, 2016 – Sri Maha Ganapati Utsavam

The morning program starts at 8:30 AM with Go Puja, Kalasa Puja, Vancha Kalpa Maha Ganapati Homam, and Pancha Sukta Abhishekam. Maha Prasadam will be served to all at 2:00 PM. At 6:00 PM, Alankara Puja will be performed for Sri Maha Ganapati, who will then be carried around the Temple in a procession. Those who are interested may sponsor the Sri Maha Ganapati Utsavam in our online Bookstore.

July 2, 2016 – Sri Rajarajeswari Utsavam

The most auspicious Sri Chandi Homam starts at 5:00 AM. This is the most powerful Devi homam that can be performed – don’t miss your chance to receive the highest blessings of Sri Maha Durga Devi. While Chandi Homam is going on, Kalasa Puja and Pancha Sukta Abhishekam will be happening simultaneously. On this day, an elaborate “Anna Pavadai” will be offered to Sri Devi and then distributed to the devotees along with Maha Prasadam at 2:00 PM. The gorgeous alankaram is a feast for the eyes, filling one’s heart with spiritual delight and divine bliss.

At 6:00 PM, Alankara Puja will be performed for Sri Rajarajeswari, who will then be taken around the Temple in a grand procession in the Chapparam. Those who are interested may sponsor the Sri Rajarajeswari Utsavam or the Sri Chandi Homam in our online Bookstore.

July 3, 2016 – Dosha Nivarana Rasi Mandala Puja

Like last year, we’ll be performing a special and rare “Rasi Mandala Puja.” This puja takes many hours to set up, several hours to perform, and is designed to remove every kind of astrological difficulty.

Due to the time and effort involved in such an elaborate puja, this puja is usually not performed on such a large scale; this is a rare and powerful opportunity to attend, participate and receive the divine blessings for ourselves and our families.

Sometimes, we may face challenges and obstacles in life due to our karma from previous births. The navagrahas (planets) and our nakshatra (birth star) will activate these karmas so that they can be released.

Although we need to face these karmas, we can lessen the impact of the planetary forces by performing certain pujas or homas with faith and devotion.

This reduces the severity of our painful experiences and is tremendously helpful for creating peace, harmony, success and good health for ourselves and our families. To learn more, please see the attached 2016 Rasi Mandala Puja flyer, read the Rasi Mandala Puja news item, or view the 2016 Rasi Mandala Puja sponsorships.

At 4:00 PM, we will have our traditional Children’s Sri Dattatreya Chariot Procession, which is organized and pulled exclusively by children, led by our youth volunteers. This is a joyous and fun-filled way for our youngest devotees to join in the fun and learn about our holy traditions.

July 4, 2016 – Sri Bhairavar Madai

From 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, numerous special food items will be offered to Sri Bhairavar and then served as Maha Prasadam to all the devotees.

Additional Sponsorship Opportunities

For those who wish to sponsor the auspicious homas and pujas of the Alankara Festival on a larger scale, there are two additional opportunities. For descriptions of the Silver Sponsorship and Gold Sponsorship opportunities, including prasadam items, please visit our online Bookstore.

As you may know, every single person who visits the Sri Vidya Temple is offered a full lunch or dinner for no charge at all. The Temple gladly offers the Mother’s Maha Prasadam to all of Her children. Of course, there are many expenses involved in running a Temple Kitchen seven days per week, 365 days of the year. It is a “maha punyam” to give annadanam, especially to devotees. Those who feel inspired are welcome to offer a donation towards Annadanam through our online Bookstore, or in the Temple.

Please join us and receive the most loving blessings of Sri Maha Ganapati,
Sri Rajarajeswari, Sri Prana Lingeswara, and the Navagrahas!
