For devotees of Sri Devi, Sarada Navaratri is the most important time in the entire year for performing seva, pujas and homas, and seeking Her divine grace for inner peace, prosperity and abundance, and spiritual bliss. During this time, Sri Mata’s infinite love pours onto the entire Earth, showering all beings with the nectar of compassion. By performing or witnessing pujas and homas during this time, we can attract that divine nectar into our hearts and fill our lives with grace and the blessings of divine protection.

This year, the very auspicious “Swayamvara Parvati Homa” will be performed during all the nine days of Navaratri.

Any human mother will give her child whatever he or she needs, whether it is food, clothes, guidance, love or education, and Divine Mother is no different. Sri Lalitambika takes many forms in order to guide and bless Her devotees according to whatever they need.

siva-parvati-lingasIn Her form as Sri Swayamvara Parvati, Divine Mother blesses us with a loving marriage, whether we are still seeking a life partner or are already married. The Swayamvara Parvati Mantra increases the loving and harmonious vibrations in our hearts, which makes our relationships smooth, peaceful and loving. She also blesses us with the ability to compromise, make necessary sacrifices, and face life’s challenges with inner strength and courage. As She is Dharma Samvardhini–the one who causes Dharma to flourish–She transforms a person’s marriage into a vehicle for spiritual growth and service.

When we see what Mother Parvati went through in order to attain Lord Siva as Her husband, we can understand what kind of tapasya is necessary to achieve our goals. She performed every kind of austerity and focused Her mind utterly on Lord Siva in order to attain oneness with Him. Spiritually, this signifies the intense concentration and unflinching self-sacrifice a spiritual seeker must have in order to attain the highest goal of divine consciousness, inner purity and absolute peace.

With Sri Mata’s grace, we can achieve all of our noble goals, whether it is to have a loving and dharmic marriage and family life, or to merge in the highest consciousness of Lord Siva Himself!

During the auspicious Sarada Navaratri, may Divine Mother Rajarajeswari’s most loving grace shower down upon all beings, and may all be drenched in the nectar of Her motherly love.
