Please Join Us for the Navaratri Brahmotsavam ~ 28 Sep to 15 Oct 2013

DSC_1890 copyNavaratri is quickly approaching! This year, Navaratri Brahmotsavam is from Oct 5 to Oct 15. For devotees of Sri Devi, this is the most important time in the entire year for worshipping Her, performing seva, pujas and homas, and praying to Her for divine peace, love and grace. During this time, Sri Mata’s infinite love pours onto the entire Earth, showering all beings with the nectar of compassion. By performing or witnessing pujas and homas during this time, we can attract that divine nectar into our hearts and fill our lives with grace and the blessings of abundance.

The Temple has arranged for some very powerful homas and pujas to be performed during this sacred time. You can view the full schedule and details from our 2013 Navaratri Flyer. Feel free to share the flyer with any of your friends and family who would also be interested.

Sri Kanakadhara Stotram ~ A Stream of Divine Gold

devi-coins-croppedThis year’s focus for Navaratri will be “Sri Kanakadhara Stotram.” This sacred stotram, composed by Sri Adi Sankaracharya, invokes Mother Lakshmi’s supreme grace for every kind of auspicious wealth. “Kanaka” means gold, and “dhara” means a steady stream or shower. When this stotram is recited, Divine Mother showers Her grace for solving any kind of financial difficulty.

This year, we will be performing homam with Sri Kanakadhara Stotram three times each day while offering amla fruits dipped in honey. Sri Mathioli Saraswathy has specifically asked Aiya to perform this homam this year. Please join us and receive the most loving blessings of Sri Rajarajeswari Devi, who is “Vani Rama Sevita,” the one who is served by Sri Lakshmi and Sri Saraswati.

We welcome you to learn Sri Kanakadhara Stotram and chant with us. You can also visit for more recordings and resources (scroll down to “Kanakadhara Stotram”).

Sponsorships Are Available

If you are interested in sponsoring the Navaratri festival and receiving sacred prasadam, please visit In addition to the usual sankalpam sponsorships, there are also opportunities for Shankha Tirthabhishekam and Kalasa Puja participation. To book a kalasam, please call the Temple as soon as possible at 585-533-1970 to reserve your spot.

This year, we have a special Blessed Coin sponsorship. Dollar coins will be placed near the homa kundam, so that they absorb the holy vibrations of all the homas and pujas, including the Sri Kanakadhara Homam. The coins can then be kept in your wallet or your shrine room for financial blessings.

During the sacred Navaratri time, may Divine Mother Rajarajeswari’s most loving grace shower down upon all beings, and may all be drenched in the nectar of Her motherly love.
