By the infinite grace of Sri Rajarajeswari Devi and our Guru Parampara, we are blessed to witness a sacred milestone in our new temple construction, the Mahamandapa Shankhasthapana Puja, to be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM ET
Join us for the sacred Mahamandapa Shankhasthapana Puja, a once in a lifetime puja, marking a significant milestone in the Rajagopuram Project – new Temple construction.
As we enter the next phase of our new temple construction – the Mahamandapam where the Devi Sannidhi will reside, it marks a profound moment in the life of our temple construction project. It is a milestone that calls upon us to come together as one temple family, united in devotion and purpose.
As part of this sacred puja, 1,008 Valampuri (Dakshinavarti – right turning) Shankhams will be installed within the foundation of the Mahamandapam, directly beneath the future granite sannidhi of Sri Rajarajeswari, before the foundation is permanently sealed.

Significance of the Shankhasthapana Puja
The foundation of a temple is not merely a physical structure – it supports the temple’s divine presence. During the puja, sacred offerings are placed within the foundation to invoke divine blessings, harmony, prosperity, and spiritual energy.
The Valampuri Shankham is considered highly auspicious and associated with Mahalakshmi, represents abundance, purity, divine grace, and the primordial sound of creation.
Along with the Valampuri Shankhams, other sacred items will be placed within the foundation under the guidance of Aiya and Amma before it is permanently sealed. These sacred offerings will become an eternal part of the temple, remaining beneath the Divine Mother for generations to come.
Sponsor a Valampuri Shankham
Devotees have the opportunity to sponsor a 6” Valampuri Shankham(s) for themselves or on behalf of their family, children, parents, ancestors, or loved ones.
As part of the ceremony:
- Your family’s name and sankalpam will be included in the Mahamandapa Shankhasthapana Puja.
- You will have the blessed opportunity to carry the Valampuri Shankham with your own hands, preform pradikshanam around Devi, Sri Rajarajeswari, the temple and then walk with the Shankham to the new temple construction site to the East Gopuram. It will then be placed into the Mahamandapa foundation on your behalf.
- Your family’s offering will become a permanent part of the temple, remaining beneath the Mahamandapam where the Sri Rajarajeswari’s sannidhi will resides.
1,008 Valampuri Shankhams will be installed, making this a unique and limited opportunity to establish a lasting spiritual connection between your family and the temple for generations to come.
The Devi Mandapam will be located within the blue outlined area shown in the image below.

On this auspicious occasion, devotees are being offered a rare and meaningful opportunity to participate in this divine undertaking. By contributing a donation of any amount they are able to offer, each devotee becomes part of this sacred journey. Every contribution, no matter how small, carries immense spiritual significance and is believed to invite divine grace and prosperity into one’s life.
We encourage everyone to attend this sacred puja in person and witness this historic milestone. For those who are unable to attend, the entire day will be live streamed on our YouTube channel, allowing devotees around the world to participate and receive the blessings. Your presence, prayers, and collective sankalpam are an integral part of this milestone. Standing together, we will offer our gratitude, devotion, and surrender at the Divine Mother’s lotus feet, seeking blessings for the successful completion of this sacred endeavor.
